CSV to MT940 in 3 steps
- Upload your CSV. Comma, semicolon and tab separators are detected on their own, as are European and US decimal notation. Works for bank exports as well as PayPal, Stripe, Mollie and credit-card statements.
- Check the column mapping. Date, amount and description are recognised automatically for common layouts. For an unusual export you pick the column per field, and the preview shows straight away whether it is right.

What tends to go wrong with CSV
No IBAN in the file
PayPal, Stripe and credit-card exports carry no IBAN. A valid fictitious account number is generated so your package accepts the file.
Decimal comma or point
A European CSV writes 1.234,56 and a US one 1,234.56. Both are read correctly, so amounts do not silently end up a factor of a thousand out.
Debit and credit in two columns
Some exports split the amount across two columns. Map both and they are combined into one amount with the correct sign.
More than 10,000 rows
That is the ceiling per upload. Split by calendar month beforehand, or use Pro bulk conversion.

Which CSV formats are supported?
Any CSV with at least a date column and an amount column. Comma, semicolon and tab separators are detected on their own, as are European and US decimal notation and different column orders. Works for bank exports as well as PayPal, Stripe, Mollie and credit-card statements.
Do I have to map the columns myself?
Usually not — common bank layouts are mapped automatically. For an unusual or hand-built CSV you pick the right column per field in step 2, and the preview shows immediately whether the mapping is correct.
Will the MT940 import into my accounting software?
Yes. The output follows the SWIFT standard and is accepted by Exact Online, Twinfield, AFAS, SnelStart, Moneybird, e-Boekhouden, Yuki and Visma.
What if my CSV has no IBAN (PayPal, Stripe, credit card)?
You can have a fictitious but valid IBAN generated in step 4. Accounting packages verify the IBAN checksum; the generated number passes it and maps to its own ledger without colliding with a real bank account.
How large can the CSV be?
Up to 10,000 transactions per upload. Split larger files by calendar month beforehand, or use Pro bulk conversion.
