Importing bank statements in Visma eAccounting
Visma eAccounting (formerly e-conomic) is a cloud accounting package that is increasingly popular in the Netherlands and Scandinavia. The platform supports importing bank statements in CAMT.053 format and offers bank connections. In this article we explain how to import bank statements in Visma eAccounting and which conversion options are available.
Supported formats in Visma eAccounting
- CAMT.053 (ISO 20022): The preferred format for Visma eAccounting. CAMT.053 is more secure and contains more transaction details.
- MT940 (SWIFT): Also supported. MT940 files from most banks can be imported. The file must have the
.txtextension. - Bank connection (Autopay): Automatic import via a direct connection to your bank. When the bank connection is active, you cannot manually import files.
Importing bank files in Visma eAccounting
Importing a CAMT.053 or MT940 file works as follows:
- Log in to Visma eAccounting and go to Cash and bank transactions.
- Click the arrow next to New bank transaction and select Import bank file.
- Click Select bank file or drag the file to the window.
- Visma recognises the bank account and displays the transactions.
- Review the data and click Import.
Note: MT940 files must have the .txt extension. Rename the file
