How to Import Bank Statements in Yuki

Guide for importing MT940, CSV and bank statements in Yuki accounting software.

Importing bank statements in Yuki

Yuki is an online accounting platform widely used by accounting firms and SMEs in the Netherlands. Yuki offers extensive options for importing bank statements, including MT940, CAMT.053 and its own document recognition via scan and upload. In this article we explain how to import bank statements in Yuki.

Supported formats in Yuki

  • MT940 (SWIFT): The standard format offered by all major Dutch banks. Yuki processes MT940 files automatically after upload.
  • CAMT.053 (ISO 20022): The newer XML format. Yuki supports CAMT.053 for all major banks.
  • Yuki bank format: A custom Excel-based import format for historical transactions or banks that don't offer MT940/CAMT.053.
  • Bank connection (Ponto): Automatic synchronisation via PSD2 bank connections for ABN AMRO, Rabobank, ING, Knab and more. Transactions are synchronised every 6 hours.

Per-bank recommendations: ABN AMRO and ING: use MT940 or CAMT.053. Rabobank: use MT940 Structured or CAMT.053. Only use CSV if MT940 or CAMT.053 is not available.

Uploading bank statements in Yuki

Yuki works differently from most accounting packages: files are delivered via the PO Box or by email, not via a traditional import menu. There are two ways to deliver bank files:

Option 1: Via the PO Box

  1. Log in to Yuki and go to the PO Box.
  2. Upload your MT940 or CAMT.053 file via the upload function.
  3. Yuki automatically recognises the file as a bank statement and processes it in your administration.

Option 2: Via email

  1. Send the bank file as an attachment by email to yourdomain@yukiworks.nl.
  2. Yuki automatically processes the attached bank statement in your administration.

Important: Do not open the bank file before uploading it to Yuki. The checkdigit in the file allows Yuki to verify the file has not been modified.
