Import AMEX, PayPal, Stripe and Mollie into Visma eAccounting

Convert transactions from payment providers to CAMT.053 or MT940 and import them into Visma eAccounting.

Importing payment providers into Visma eAccounting

Visma eAccounting is a cloud accounting package that is increasingly popular in the Netherlands and Scandinavia. In addition to regular bank statements, you also want to process transactions from payment providers such as AMEX, PayPal, Stripe and Mollie. Visma accepts CAMT.053, MT940 and CSV for bank statement import via Bank > Importeren.

Visma prefers the CAMT.053 format due to the richer transaction data and the ISO 20022 standard.

Importing American Express (AMEX) into Visma

American Express provides transaction statements as CSV or Excel. Visma cannot directly read these as bank statements. The solution:

  1. Download your AMEX transaction statement via americanexpress.com as CSV.
  2. Upload the file in StatementBridge.
  3. Map the columns: Date → Date, Amount → Amount, Description → Description.
  4. Enter an IBAN for your AMEX account (e.g. NL00AMEX0000000000).
  5. Export as CAMT.053 (preferred) or MT940.
  6. In Visma, go to Bank > Importeren and upload the file.

Tip: AMEX amounts are often shown as positive for expenses. Check in the preview whether debit and credit are set correctly.

Importing ICS (Visa/Mastercard) into Visma

ICS provides credit card statements for Visa and Mastercard as PDF or CSV. For import into Visma:

  1. Download your ICS transaction statement as CSV via icscards.nl.
  2. Upload the CSV file in StatementBridge.
  3. Map the columns for date, amount and description.
  4. Enter an IBAN for your credit card account.
  5. Export as CAMT.053 and import into Visma via Bank > Importeren.

Note: use the transaction date (not the processing date) for accurate bookkeeping in Visma.

Importing PayPal into Visma

PayPal provides transaction statements as CSV with columns such as Gross, Fee and Net. Visma cannot process this directly as a bank statement.

  1. Download your PayPal transactions via Activity > Download Reports as CSV.
  2. Upload the file in StatementBridge.
  3. Map the columns: Date → Date, Gross → Amount, Name → Counterparty name, Subject → Description.
  4. Enter your PayPal IBAN or use a fictitious number such as NL00PAYP0000000000.
  5. Export as CAMT.053 (preferred) or MT940.
  6. Import into Visma via Bank > Importeren.

Tip: use Gross (gross amount) as the amount column and book the PayPal fees (Fee) separately via a journal entry in Visma.

Importing Stripe into Visma

Stripe offers payout reports and transaction overviews as CSV via the dashboard.

  1. Go to the Stripe Dashboard and navigate to Payments > All transactions.
  2. Click Export and download as CSV.
  3. Upload the CSV file in StatementBridge.
  4. Map the columns: Created (UTC) → Date, Amount → Amount, Description → Description.
  5. Enter an IBAN for your Stripe account (e.g. NL00STRP0000000000).
  6. Export as CAMT.053 and import into Visma.

Note: Stripe amounts are often in cents (e.g. 1000 = €10.00). Check in the StatementBridge preview whether the amounts have been converted correctly. CAMT.053 is the recommended format for Visma due to the more comprehensive transaction data.

Importing Mollie into Visma

Mollie is a widely used payment provider for Dutch webshops and provides payout reports as CSV.

  1. Log in to the Mollie Dashboard and go to Finances > Exports.
  2. Select the desired period and download the report as CSV.
  3. Upload the CSV file in StatementBridge.
  4. Map the columns: date, amount, description and optionally the Mollie reference.
  5. Enter the IBAN of your Mollie account.
  6. Export as CAMT.053 (preferred) or MT940.
  7. Import the file into Visma via Bank > Importeren.

Tip: Mollie sometimes groups multiple payments into a single payout. Use the detailed transaction report so that Visma can process each transaction separately.
