Step-by-step guide for downloading bank statements from ING for your accounting software.
Downloading bank statements from ING
ING is the largest bank in the Netherlands and offers both business and personal customers the option to download bank statements in MT940 and CAMT.053 format. These files can be imported into your accounting software to process transactions automatically.
MT940 or CAMT.053: which format to choose?
ING offers two formats for bank statements: MT940 and CAMT.053. We recommend CAMT.053. This is the newer ISO 20022 format that contains more transaction details and is more secure. As of November 2025, MT940 is no longer supported by SWIFT. CAMT.053 is future-proof and supported by all modern accounting packages.
